In 2017, Lombard Odier announced H&dM as the winner of a competition between eight local and international architectural firms. Our project was selected for its “ultra-contemporary architecture that combines openness to its surroundings with elegance and innovation.”

The site has exposure to the grand paysage genevois (Geneva’s grand landscape) while providing excellent connectivity: just a six-minute train ride from Geneva’s Cornavin station, five minutes by car from the airport, and convenient access to the motorway.

The building takes its place within the Champ-du-Chateau masterplan. Rather than following the suggested L-shaped configuration, we created a single curved building. This distinctive shape emerged by tracing the site’s outer boundaries to maximize the buildable area.

The building is characterized by thin, curved slabs that cantilever out, providing sun shading for the fully glazed façades and offering covered outdoor spaces all around the structure. The curves are not always superimposed, the contours vary, and the terraces differ in orientation and size according to adjacent programs.

The façades are treated identically, with no distinct front or back. Everything seems to float in a forest of white columns. The transparent, open building, with its fully glazed façades, maximizes the perception of le Grand Paysage – the lake, the mountains, and the green surroundings.

At the building’s core, an atrium splits open the ceiling, creating a central void that allows daylight to penetrate deep into the heart of the building.

The inner topography of One Roof creates an environment where people naturally connect through purposefully designed spaces beyond traditional work areas. From double-height collaborative zones to the ground-floor bistro, terrace cafeteria, and snack corners, these varied settings foster both casual and formal interactions throughout the day. The building also nurtures well-being through dedicated fitness area, alongside gardens that provide moments of respite.

The auditorium, with a capacity of up to 800 spectators, extends to the outside amphitheater. The curved seating arrangement flows continuously from inside to outside, creating a natural blend between these complementary spaces.
