With expertise in territorial, urban, and infrastructural planning, he has managed the Bahnknoten Basel project, along with various masterplans and large-scale transformation projects in Switzerland, notably Dreispitz Nord, Rosental Mitte, and Walzwerk. Throughout his career at H&dM, he has led teams that won both national and international competitions in architecture and urban design, such as Ronquoz 21 in Sion and FORUM UZH in Zurich, for which he oversaw the design development through subsequent planning phases. Julian is currently responsible for a number of architectural projects, including the Gstaad Concert Hall and the Prisma Birsfelden high-rise, as well as urban masterplans and corporate headquarters.
Julian holds a master’s degree in architecture from ETH Zurich. After graduating under Prof. Tom Emerson in 2015, he stayed on at ETH as an assistant and curator at the Institute for the Theory of Architecture (gta), and as a research and teaching assistant at ETH Studio Basel. He began his architectural career at studios in Switzerland and abroad, including Buchner Bründler and Sergison Bates architects. Julian began his collaboration with H&dM in 2017.
