Yasmin Kherad

Yasmin Kherad is a Senior Associate at Herzog & de Meuron. Yasmin leads projects with a focus on design from the early concept phase through all stages to completion, working across scales and levels of complexity from interior architecture to urban planning. Her project experience spans cultural, commercial, hospitality, infrastructure, and urban planning projects, including both built work and competitions. She has developed expertise in interior design, heritage and adaptive reuse projects working with listed buildings. Alongside her project work, Yasmin represents H&dM as the Studio Director of our German locations, working between Berlin, Munich and our main office in Basel.

Yasmin is currently managing the berlin modern and Hauptpost Basel projects, both of which are under construction. In addition to her daily work on site, she is actively working on competitions and concept designs. Past projects include Volkshaus Basel Hotel and 215 Chrystie – the Public Hotel – in New York, the Flinders Street Station competition in Melbourne, the urban concept for Am Tacheles in Berlin, and the Grasbrook competition for a new city district in Hamburg.

Yasmin earned her degree in Architecture and Urban Planning at the University of Fine Arts Hamburg, Germany, with distinction in 2004. During her studies, she served as a teaching assistant in the Department of Landscape Architecture and held a part-time position with David Chipperfield Architects in Berlin. After graduation, Yasmin worked independently on restoration projects in Germany before joining H&dM in 2006.
