Herzog & de Meuron

Tobias Winkelmann joined Herzog & de Meuron in 2002 for the Allianz Arena competition, moving soon after to Munich, and starting a focus on stadium projects. In 2003 he worked in Basel on the National Stadium Beijing and relocated to China as a Project Manager where he further developed his expertise in managing and realizing complex projects. Returning to Basel after two-and-a-half years, he became an Associate in 2008 and was involved in the completion of the New Hall of Messe Basel, and the Nouveau Stade Bordeaux. His contributions continued in the redevelopment of Stamford Bridge in London, the FORUM UZH for the University of Zurich, and a master plan at the former post distribution center in Munich. He became an Associate Partner in 2021.

Tobias studied Architecture at the Technical University of East London and received Architecture BSc (Hons) degree in 1996. He furthered his studies at the Technical University Berlin and graduated with a degree in Architecture in 1999.
