On-Site at Hauptpost Basel

BASEL, SWITZERLAND – On-site at the Hauptpost Basel with a look at the ongoing work on the Passage. When completed, the Passage will once again connect Freie Strasse and Gerbergasse in Basel’s medieval city center.

Historically, the Passage served as an important extension of the public realm along Freie Strasse. In close collaboration with preservation authorities, this part of the Hauptpost project incorporates preserved stone elements from the original masonry archways and windows. A replica of the main archway has been installed at one end of the Passage, while the original remains in its historic position at the other end, together completing the connection.
