Herzog & de Meuron

Lukasz Szlachcic is an Associate at Herzog & de Meuron. Working primarily out of our Austin office, Lukasz is the Project Director for a diverse range of projects in North America including the Sixth&Blanco development in Austin, the San Antonio Museum of Art in Texas, the NE A Street development in Bentonville, Arkansas, and the Redwood project, which includes the restoration of the former Birkenstock distribution center in Novato, California. Previously, he served as the Project Manager for the Vancouver Art Gallery and the Belltown mixed-use development in Seattle. From 2013 to 2020, Lukasz was the Project Architect for the National Library of Israel in Jerusalem, overseeing the project from concept to construction documentation and primarily responsible for project coordination and planning. Lukasz’s collaboration with H&dM began in 2012, where he initially worked on several competitions and concept studies, including the winning entries for the New North Zealand Hospital and UCSF Helen Diller Medical Center.

Lukasz holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Cornell University and a Master of Architecture and Urbanism from the Architectural Association in London. Additionally, he studied philosophy and modern history at the University of Oxford. He has previously collaborated with OMA in Rotterdam and Hong Kong.
