Herzog & de Meuron

BELLEVUE, SWITZERLAND – ‘One Roof’ achieved a BREEAM Outstanding sustainability certification with a score of 95.2% — the highest of any building in Switzerland. It has also earned the Swiss Minergie-P and Très Haute Performance Énergétique (THPE) certifications.

Environmentally, the new headquarters for Lombard Odier incorporates local materials, recycled concrete for the foundation, rainwater collection, and over 700 m² of rooftop solar panels. Deep cantilevers shield windows from too much sun, reducing cooling needs, while the GeniLac system uses water from Lake Geneva for efficient heating and cooling.

Its location next to a train station, along with bike and EV facilities, supports sustainable mobility. A flexible structural grid ensures long-term adaptability for evolving needs or multiple tenants. The social dimension is also important, with abundant natural light, panoramic views, and amenities designed for wellbeing and interaction.
