ZURICH, SWITZERLAND – The University Children’s Hospital Zurich has been officially inaugurated. In the presence of the President of the Zurich Government Natalie Rickli, President of the Eleonoren Foundation Martin Vollenwyder, CEO of the Children’s Hospital Georg Schäppi, as well as Herzog & de Meuron Partners Jacques Herzog and Christine Binswanger, the symbolic ribbon cutting marked one of the last milestones before the acute hospital will officially welcome first patients on November 2nd.

The Kinderspital Zürich in Zürich-Lengg is Switzerland’s largest healthcare facility for children and adolescents. It consists of two buildings: the acute hospital and a building dedicated to research and teaching. Both have received platinum certification for sustainability from the Swiss Sustainable Building Council.
