On-Site at Mailand-Strasse

DREISPITZ, BASEL, SWITZERLAND – To mark the recent opening of our new Herzog & de Meuron office building in Dreispitz, we look back at its construction. ON-SITE Mailand-Strasse was filmed at the job site between October 2023 and March 2025. Designed as a rational, simple, and sustainable structure, the Mailand-Strasse project combines a pragmatic approach with a strong architectural identity. Timber forms most of the structure, with concrete used only where necessary. Modular structural and façade elements helped streamline the construction process.
