On-Site at Kunstbetrieb: The Making of “The Council” at Les Trois Rois

BASEL, SWITZERLAND – On the occasion of the opening of “The Council” at the Grand Hotel Les Trois Rois, we share an insight into the process of fabricating some of the bespoke elements within the room. The 40-square-meter space features 570 ceramic tiles on 7-meter-high walls at either side above the fireplaces. The tiles were conceived by Jacques in close collaboration with ceramicist Esther Lattner, the project team, and Kunstbetrieb, local art fabricators in Münchenstein. The hearths are completed with custom cast bronze tiles on the walls and floor.
