NEW YORK, USA — Work on the Memphis Art Museum continues as the building nears completion later this year. Ascan Mergenthaler, Philip Schmerbeck, and Jack Brough, along with MAM Executive Director Zoe Kahr, spoke with members of the press about the new building and its significance to Memphis.

Designed by Herzog & de Meuron in collaboration with archimania and landscape studio OLIN, the museum is situated along the Mississippi River and is a key component of the city’s waterfront redevelopment. The new MAM will be an efficient and sustainable building that serves as a cultural anchor in the historic core of the city. By providing improved and expanded facilities, increased visitor access, and closer proximity to other notable downtown sites, the museum aims to expand its audience and strengthen the existing urban fabric.
