AMSTERDAM, NETHERLANDS, 6 December 2019 – Our project Badaevskiy Brewery, Redevelopment was announced winner of the category “Future Projects – Residential” at the 12th edition of the World Architecture Festival (WAF) in Amsterdam.

534 projects from 70 countries were shortlisted in 33 project categories. Within the category “Future Projects – Residential”, Badaevskiy Brewery prevailed against 16 competing projects.

The Jury praised the project stating: “Striking at first glance, this project turns out to be a clever and considered example of ‘critical conservation’ – a brave juxtaposition of old and new that reinterprets the use of pilotis at the urban space.”

Additionally, the project scored well in the category “Future Projects – Masterplanning”, where it was shortlisted and highly commended.

Prior to the event, the project was already selected as the “WAFX – Re-use” winner. The WAFX Award heralds the world’s most forward-looking architectural concepts, and is awarded to future projects that identify key challenges that architects will need to address in the coming years.
