HILLERØD, DENMARK — The cornerstone ceremony for 416 New North Zealand’s Hospital took place onsite in Denmark, pausing construction for a break shared between everyone on site.

Initially postponed due to the pandemic, the cornerstone ceremony was less traditional than most – with construction well underway. Jason Frantzen joined chairman hospital director Bente Ourø Rørth, director Ole Kristian Bottheim and the region’s council chairman Lars Gaarhøj attaching wishes to four stones laid into a floor mosaic. The four stones are the first to form part of a large mosaic which will be placed on the terrazzo floor of the lobby. Totalling of 240 stones and depicting the unique four-leaf clover shape of the hospital, each stone will be filled with wishes for the new hospital over the next few years.

The ceremony celebrates another milestone in healthcare projects for the practice, with the new hospital forming the heart of the new masterplan of Hillerød South.
