Design Technologies: Robotic Arm

Our Design Technologies team, in collaboration with Lullin Engineering, recently installed a 6-axis robotic arm with a synchronized rotary table on our main campus in Basel. Its task will be to subtractively machine wood, foam and other materials using larger milling tools and even saw blades. In the coming days, DT will start using the robot to support architectural projects, producing models, mock-ups, and prototypes essential to the design process. This new state-of-the-art CNC platform will enable the discovery of new fabrication strategies and allow for rapid prototyping on a 1:1 scale.
