David Theurillat

David Theurillat is Head of Digital Practice at Herzog & de Meuron. With a background in software development, infrastructure, enterprise technology, project management and IT leadership, David brings experience across a wide range of technical and organizational disciplines, including previous management roles in international companies and academies.

David leads a multidisciplinary organization spanning several specialized teams, shaping the digital strategy and guiding its implementation across our office. His responsibilities cover the full spectrum of technology, from computational design, building analytics and digital fabrication to software development, business systems, data, infrastructure and everyday workplace technology, including the integration of AI and automation.

David combines a deep understanding of technology and organizational processes with curiosity for what they make possible. Bringing together people and perspectives, he and his teams question established ways of working, tackle complex challenges and build a collaborative Digital Practice that shapes how architecture is conceived, developed and realized.

David joined Herzog & de Meuron in 2018 as an IT Project Manager. He subsequently led Digital Workplace and IT Services before becoming Head of Digital Practice in 2026.
