Perception and approach: the historical city of Solothurn and the surrounding landscape at the eastern end of the Seeland.
The project was proposed for a former waste disposal site on the outskirts of Solothurn in close proximity to the river Aare.
The site was to be developed in parallel with decontamination measures, transforming it into a unique area combining urban and rural characteristics in close proximity to the water.
The Masterplan as a tool: a system of streets and paths that offers connections and views towards the water from all sides connected by a promenade along the new Aareschlaufe.
Dividing the area into sectors; providing a variety of housing typologies.
