Herzog & de Meuron

Stephan Weber joined Herzog & de Meuron in 2010, gaining extensive local experience realizing a diverse range of projects, beginning with Asklepios 8 on the Novartis campus. His work on this project from concept to completion as Project Architect was directly followed by the renovation and extension of the Stadtcasino Basel. Currently he is responsible for the redevelopment of the Helvetia Campus and has been Project Director of the competition for the renovation and reorganization of the Kunstmuseum Basel.

Stephan studied architecture at TU Darmstadt and MĂĽnster School of Architecture from 2002-2010. Parallel to earning his master’s degree, he co-founded his own studio and realized his first widely published project between 2008-2010. Previously he collaborated with Schneider + Schumacher, Frankfurt a.M. and Sauerbruch Hutton, Berlin. Stephan was a member of the “Foundation-Convent” of the Federal German Foundation for Building-Culture. In 2006 he won the “4th International Bauhaus Award – Updating Modernism”. In 2011 his first project was nominated for the DAM Award for Architecture in Germany. In 2013 this work received the Architizer A+ Award in New York.
