Melanie Müller

Melanie Müller joined Herzog & de Meuron as Legal Counsel in 2021 and became Head of the Legal & Compliance department in 2024. In her role as General Counsel, she is responsible for all company and project related legal matters, both nationally and internationally. Furthermore, she ensures the adherence to all relevant compliance standards across Herzog & de Meuron.

Before joining Herzog & de Meuron, Melanie worked for several years as an attorney-at-law in a prominent Swiss corporate law firm, focusing on intellectual property as well as contract law. In addition to her law degree from the University of Basel, Melanie also holds a Master of Laws in American Law from Boston University, with a specialization in international business practice; she also holds a PhD from the University of Basel, where her research focused on Intellectual Property Law. Alongside her work, Melanie is the author of multiple legal publications and is a member of various associations such as the Vereinigung Schweizerischer Unternehmensjuristen, the Basler Juristenverein and an alumna of the Model United Nations Team at the University of Basel.
