Herzog & de Meuron

Marc Schmidt began his collaboration with Herzog & de Meuron in Basel in 2000. As a Project Architect he contributed to the implementation of Schaulager, Laurenz Foundation, Münchenstein, and the competition Südpark Baufeld D, Basel. Since 2004 he has been the responsible Project Manager for various projects in all phases of design and construction such as the realization of Elsässertor II, Basel; the realization of the office and residential building St. Johanns-Rheinweg, Basel; and the realization of several interior upgrades for an office building in Basel. Since 2010, among various concept studies and master plan studies, he has been responsible for the concept study of a flagship store in Zurich. Marc Schmidt became Senior Architect in 2006 and Associate in 2012.

Marc studied architecture at the Technical Universities of Darmstadt and Berlin, Germany from 1987 until 1994. During his academic work he collaborated with Klaus Theo Brenner Architect in Milan and Berlin. Marc graduated in 1994 with a degree in Architecture at the Technical University of Berlin, Germany. From 1995 to 1999, he collaborated with Bétrix & Consolascio Architects, Erlenbach where he was able to accompany larger construction projects in Switzerland and Austria.
