Herzog & de Meuron

Iva Smrke first joined Herzog & de Meuron in 2004 as an intern during her studies and returned to the office as a Junior Architect in 2006. She worked on various projects and in 2009 became the Project Architect of São Paulo Cultural Complex Luz; a centre for music and dance consisting of three theatres, a dance company and a music school.

In 2012 she became an Associate of the firm and has developed numerous international projects in Europe, USA and Asia. Among other projects, she was Project Director of the Miu Miu Aoyama project in Tokyo through to its completion in 2015 and is currently leading the interior design for 425 Roche pRED centre in Basel. In parallel Iva managed a wide range of competitions including the Neue Nationalgalerie – Museum des 20. Jahrhunderts in Berlin and Amherst College in United States.

Iva graduated from the University of Architecture in Ljubljana, Slovenia in 2006.
