Herzog & de Meuron

Ilia Tsachev joined Herzog & de Meuron in 2011 and has held key roles in two large-scale projects in Russia, beginning with Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology in Skolkovo, Moscow. Ilia has been involved with the project since the master planning phase, becoming the Project Manager and key responsible person overseeing realization of the campus starting in the construction phase until its completion in 2018. That same year he took over the project lead of Badaevskiy Brewery in Moscow, which is currently under construction. Since 2021 he is also acting as Project Manager for a development project located in Asia.

Ilia received his bachelor’s degree from Kyushu Institute of Design in 2006 and obtained his master’s degree from Kyushu University, Japan in 2008. He has previously collaborated with SANAA in 2007 and Atelier Bow-Wow in 2008 as an intern. Upon his return to Europe, Ilia worked at MAXWAN architects + urbanists in Rotterdam until 2010.
