Herzog & de Meuron

Carmo Montalvão is a UK/ARB registered Architect. Carmo joined Herzog & de Meuron in 2009 as an intern working on Lyon La Confluence Master plan. As an Architect she worked on several projects including São Paulo Cultural Complex Luz in Brazil and One Park Drive Canary Wharf, the project that led her to move to London in 2014. As a Senior Architect she was responsible for completing the Royal College of Art Studio and Research Building in Battersea, London where she was involved in all stages of the project. She became an Associate Studio Director in 2022.

Carmo obtained her master’s degree in architecture in 2008 from the Lisbon University Faculty of Architecture (FA-UTL) in Portugal. She had a short stint at Adjaye Associates in London as a Project Architect for the Batsheva Arts Centre in Tel Aviv.
