Herzog & de Meuron

Ana Laureano Alves joined Herzog & de Meuron in 2014 as an architect in the kitchen team – a multidisciplinary team focusing on a wide range of communication objectives. Starting with the conception and first development of the Kabinett, Ana dedicated her time mainly to the conception and production of monographs and exhibitions, such as “Tate Modern. Building a Museum for the 21st Century”, “AV monografias Herzog & de Meuron 2013-2017” and “Herzog & de Meuron 001–500”. In parallel, Ana was increasingly interested in the digital communication platforms of the office, leading the project of the HdM website relaunch. She was appointed Lead of Digital Media in 2022.

Ana studied Architecture at the University of Minho, Portugal, graduating with a master’s degree in architecture. Her thesis focused on architecture and communication; since then, she has worked within the overlap between these two fields. In parallel to practicing architecture in different European countries, she collaborated with the architecture publishing house Dafne Editora as researcher, translator, and co-editor. Ana contributed to various Portuguese media on architecture books and exhibitions.
