Herzog & de Meuron

Alexa Nürnberger joined Herzog & de Meuron in 2006 and worked on various international urban and architectural projects as well as a series of competitions and studies. She became an Associate in 2012. She has contributed to several projects in Spain, where she has both academic and work experience; these projects include Burgos Bulevar and the New Headquarters for BBVA in Madrid. Focused on urban design and planning, she has been managing the Master Plan for La Confluence in Lyon, France since 2009. Continuing her work on institutional projects, Alexa has been managing the Museum der Moderne – berlin modern in Berlin, Germany and FORUM UZH University of Zurich, Switzerland since 2019.

Alexa studied architecture at the Technical University of Munich, Germany, and the Barcelona School of Architecture (ETSAB), Spain, graduating with a Diploma of Architecture in 2001. She collaborated with Mateo Arquitectura in Barcelona in 2002-2003. She continued her studies at the Berlage Institute in Rotterdam in 2004-2005 and became a registered architect in 2005.
