Roche pRED Center Opens

“Roche is an integral part of the surrounding residential neighbourhood in Basel. The main road of Grenzacherstrasse, which runs directly through the Roche campus, no longer divides but is a connector. The street has become a central place in the neighbourhood. Parts of the ground floor of the pRED buildings are now directly accessible from public spaces and various programs—such as a demonstration laboratory, a café, seating areas with shady trees—enliven the surroundings of the life science cluster. The design focuses on flexibility of use and fostering internal communication. Spiral staircases connect three laboratory floors together into research units.
