Stefan Marbach is senior Partner at Herzog & de Meuron and has led and realised a number of high profile national and international Herzog & de Meuron projects, such as Prada Aoyama and Miu Miu Aoyama in Tokyo, the new hall for Messe Basel, and Beirut Terraces in Beirut. Stadia have been a particular focus of his work including the National Stadium in Beijing, St Jakob Park in Basel, the Nouveau Stade de Bordeaux and Stamford Bridge in London. He has extensive expertise in office buildings, laboratory and research facilities such as Roche Building 1 in Basel, the AstraZeneca Global R&D Centre and Corporate Headquarters in Cambridge, UK and the Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology in Skolkovo. Russia. Stefan Marbach is responsible for 6AM, a mixed-use urban development in Downtown Los Angeles, the redevelopment of the Badaevskiy Brewery in Moscow, and the Gasklocka project in Stockholm.

 

After completing his apprenticeship as a draftsman in 1990, Stefan Marbach first joined Herzog & de Meuron in 1991. He studied architecture at the Fachhochschule Nordwestschweiz, Switzerland and at the Royal Institute of Technology KTH in Stockholm from 1993 to 1997. In 1997 Stefan Marbach returned to Herzog & de Meuron, in 1999 he became Associate, in 2006 Partner and in 2009 Senior Partner.
