Michel Frei completed a professional apprenticeship as a draughtsman and worked in different offices in Switzerland for several years before taking up studies at ETH Zurich and Harvard GSD. In 2011, he earned his diploma as an architect.

 

Since joining Herzog & de Meuron, Michel has contributed to various urban planning and architectural concept studies and competitions in a leading role. In the three years that followed, he worked on the Roche projects. He led the urbanistic work on the Entwicklungsplan (Development Plan) that has become effective in the meantime and is the basis for several new projects. Furthermore, he co-developed the architecture for the pRED-Center, a multi-part complex within the Entwicklungsplan.
