Michel Frei completed a professional apprenticeship as a draughtsman and worked in different offices in Switzerland for several years before taking up studies at ETH Zurich and Harvard GSD. In 2011, he earned his Master diploma as an architect.

 

Since joining Herzog & de Meuron, Michel has contributed to various urban planning and architectural concept studies and competitions in a leading role. In the three years that followed, he worked on the Roche projects. He led the urbanistic work on the Entwicklungsplan (Development Plan) that has become effective in the meantime and is the basis for several new projects. Furthermore, he co-developed the architecture for the pRED-Center, a multi-part research and development complex within the Entwicklungsplan. Since 2017, he has been the Project Manager of TITLIS 3020 in the central Swiss Alps.
