John O’Mara

Associate, Project Director

 John O'Mara is a UK/ARB registered Architect who began his collaboration with Herzog & de Meuron in 2008 as Project Manager on The Tate Modern Project. In 2009, he moved to London to coordinate our UK office and projects. John has directed projects including the Tate Modern Project Tanks and Blavatnik Building Extension, the Blavatnik School of Government in Oxford, UK, One Park Drive Canary Wharf, and is also currently overseeing the Royal College of Art Studio and Research Building in Battersea.
 
John studied architecture and technology of architecture at Bolton Street Institute, Dublin, Southbank University and the Architectural Association, London. During and between academic studies, he worked with various studios to develop his design and practical experience. From 2001 to 2008, he was Associate Director with Future Systems in London, working on numerous built works and competitions.
