Dieter Mangold first joined Herzog & de Meuron in 1999, parallel to his studies, for internships in the Basel and San Francisco offices. Since 2003, he has worked as an Architect on various projects in Europe, Asia and North America. He helped to establish the New York office in 2007and relocated there to work as Project Designer on the Parrish Art Museum in Water Mill and as Project Manager on the Park Avenue Armory in New York City. In 2010 he became an Associate of the firm. Since returning to Basel in 2011, he continues to supervise projects in all phases of design including the residential complex Castagnola 1747 in Lugano, Switzerland.

Dieter studied Architecture at the Fachhochschule beider Basel with a semester at the California College of the Arts and Crafts, San Francisco, USA. Dieter graduated in 2003 with an Architect FH degree.
