Christoph Röttinger first joined Herzog & de Meuron for an internship in the Munich office during his studies. After graduation in 2002, he returned as an Architect on the Allianz Arena. Since 2004, he has been based in Basel and worked on the conception of the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg and the realization of the National Stadium, Beijing. Between 2005–2008 he was Project Manager for the House above a Lake and various projects in Switzerland and across Europe. In 2009 he became Associate and is now mainly responsible for the Phase 2 Master Plan of La Confluence, Lyon and the extension of the Musée Unterlinden in Colmar.

Christoph trained in France as a carpenter and cabinet-maker between 1994–1996 before studying architecture at Technische Universität München TUM, Germany.
