Launch Reception for M+ museum
VENICE, ITALY, 8 May 2019 – Last night, M+ celebrated an international Launch Reception as part of the Venice Biennale. Chairman Victor Lo and Director Suhanya Raffel welcomed more than 350 guests from the art, culture and the museum world, and over 60 media representatives.

Jacques Herzog gave a presentation about the architecture of the project, and Swiss-born collector Uli Sigg spoke on his collection of contemporary Chinese art, of which he donated a substantial part to the museum.

Part of the West Kowloon Cultural District in Hong Kong, M+ is a museum for visual culture focusing on twentieth- and twenty-first-century design and architecture, moving image, and visual art from Hong Kong, Asia, and beyond. With a gross floor area of 65,000 square metres, M+ will be one of the largest museums of modern and contemporary visual culture in the world. The building topped out in December last year, and is scheduled to be complete in early 2020.
