Special issue on Elbphilharmonie
edited by Herzog & de Meuron
TOKYO, JAPAN, 27 February 2017 – “Herzog & de Meuron. Elbphilharmonie”, the March 2017 issue of a+u, has been released.
This is the first, in-depth publication since the inaugural concerts in January 2017 to fully document the Elbphilharmonie, a project which was 15 years in the making. Edited by Herzog & de Meuron as a complete issue, it provides insight into the urban, conceptual, architectural and civic aspects of realizing a complex, public project: A philharmonic for Hamburg. A large selection of previously unpublished material includes new photo essays by Joël Tettamanti and Armin Linke, as well as archival images from the design and construction process, accompanied with texts by art and architecture writer Gerhard Mack. The English/Japanese edition is now available.
