Herzog & de Meuron - Myths and Collaborations over Time – Livestream
NEW YORK, USA, 9 September 2013 – On Monday, Jacques Herzog discussed Herzog & de Meuron's collaborations with artists over time. The lecture focused on earlier collaborations and projects, looking back at a time in the sixties and the seventies, when architecture and art were still clearly differentiated. In this context, Jacques Herzog discusses the collaboration initiated by he and Pierre de Meuron with Joseph Beuys during the Basel Carnival in 1978. Since then, Herzog & de Meuron have kept working with artists, notably with Rémy Zaugg, Rosemarie Trockel, Thomas Ruff, Michael Craig-Martin and Ai Weiwei. Most recent collaborations include last year‘s Serpentine Gallery Pavilion in London‘s Kensington Gardens developed with Ai Weiwei. (1 June to 14 October 2012).
