Elbphilharmonie Hamburg first contractual milestone of the "Neuordnung" fulfilled
HAMBURG, GERMANY, 25 October 2013 – Last week, the City of Hamburg gave its full approval of the 3D planning package for the main concert hall as well as the security concept for the complete building by the new planner association between Herzog & de Meuron and Hochtief. With this step, the first contractual milestone of the so-called “Neuordnung” has been fulfilled.

The Reorganization of the project and contract negotiations with the Freie Hansestadt Hamburg regarding the completion of the Elbphilharmonie concluded successfully in June this year.

Following the completion of the inner concrete shell of the concert hall, the final steel beams of the building`s roof structure are being mounted and the roof itself is progressively closed up. This week, the mounting of the substructure for the so-called “Weisse Haut” (white skin), the interior paneling of the hall, began. The concert hall with its 2150 seats is the centerpiece of the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg. The building is to be completed in late 2016 and will come alive with concerts in 2017.
