Herzog & de Meuron on Nobel Foundation Shortlist
STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN, 21 March 2013 - Herzog & de Meuron has been shortlisted along with eleven other architecture firms to design new headquarters and a visitors' centre for the Nobel Prize in Stockholm. The building will become the new home of the Nobel Foundation, which has been based in Stockholm since it was set up in the name of philanthropist and inventor Alfred Nobel in 1900. The new building will accommodate offices, exhibition spaces, conference rooms, as well as a library, café and restaurant. The twelve international firms were selected from approximately 120 submissions.
